Time to start thinking about skiing again...

It's hard to believe that the 2010-11 ski season is starting for us already, but it is! New merchandise is arriving daily. We've got boxes of new merchandise everywhere that we are busy unpacking and setting up. The new Volkl and Nordica skis are in. The Rossignol race skis and Lange boots are due July 15. Also, new to the store - CW-X Conditioning Wear is due by August 15. The start of the new season is so exciting - there is so much cool stuff to check out! Exciting new technology, fun new graphics, and all of the latest and greatest gear to help you achieve peak performance!

Summer is a great time to get a head start on the ski season and enjoy a nice visit to Vermont! Pick up last seasons gear at discounted prices or the latest and greatest of the new seasons gear while the selection is at it's best. Killington is a great place to visit any time of year. In the summer, there's hiking and biking and golf, not to mention great festivals and events. Summers in Vermont are amazing...bright, sunny and warm - but not too warm (usually). There always seems to be a nice mountain breeze.

So check us out on the web or plan a nice little trip up. We are in the store frequently, but are still on our "summer hours" so please call to set up an appointment to stop in if you are coming up. Hope to see you soon!

Looking forward to winter 2010-11 already!

The 2009-10 season has barely ended (in fact, it's snowing in Killington today!) and I am excited about next season already! There's a bunch of new lines in store for Peak Performance Ski Shop! Here's a list of the new brands we've got coming in for next season: Briko, CW-X Conditioning Wear, Flylow, Millet USA, Native Eyewear, Smith Optics, Rossignol, SunIce, Terramar, and Volkl (Softgoods). So keep your eye on our blog for information about the new lines we are bringing in for fall/winter 2010-11.

We are constantly working to improve our store, our website and our merchandise selection. We want to be the first store that comes to mind for your race and performance ski products and apparel.

We're still around in the summer - are you?

Killington Resort announced that they will close the lifts for the season on April 25. We've still got a bit of snow on the mountain though, so it will definitely be worth the trip to skin up the mountain for a while after the lift service ends. One of the guys from the shop just got back from the mountain and said he hiked over to Rime, Reason and Double Dipper and they were worth the trip.

The announcement of the resort closing for the season brings mixed emotions...I am sad to see another winter gone, but excited to do all the spring and summer activities the Killington region has to offer. Just because the skiing is done, doesn't mean you shouldn't take a trip to Vermont! There is so much to do here in the non-winter months! There's lift assisted mountain biking at Killington Resort. There's great cross country mountain bike trails at Pine Hill Park in Rutland, there's rivers, lakes and streams everywhere for fishing, boating and kayaking. And let's not forget all the hiking! I could go on and on...

Oh, yeah, I don't want to forget to mention some of the great events coming to the Killington area this summer - the Killington Stage Race will be Memorial Day Weekend, the Green Mountain Relay June 19 - 20, the Killington Wine Festival July 16 - 18 and
the Gravity East Downhill Racing Series August 14 - 15 plus the Killington (Motorcycle) Classic September 9 - 12 just to mention a few.

So you can see, there are lots of good reasons to come to Killington, even after the snow has gone. And while you are here, stop in and see us for some great summer deals on this past seasons clothing and equipment. Help us make room for 2010-11 season goods!

Once the mountain closes, we too will be taking some time off. Please call us at 802-422-9447 or check our website for our hours during May, June and July. We'll be around - working on the website, and processing web orders, getting skis ready for athletes participating in summer camps and tuning race skis for those who want to get a jump start on next season. We'll also be making some changes in the back shop and tuning rooms to make our shop even more efficient.

Hope to see you this summer!
